Windows 8 Beta, Release Date, Compatibility & Wallpapers


Windows 8 is going to be the next version of the Microsoft Windows, a family huge of operating systems produced by Microsoft for use on the personal computers, including the desktops for home or business use, laptops, notebooks, tablets,etc . It adds support for the ARM microprocessors in addition to the traditional x86 microprocessors from Intel and AMD. It has been changed alot in its interface to make it better suited for touchscreen input for tablets in addition to the traditional mouse, keyboard, and pen input, regarding the rapid growth of tablet PCs and touchscreen computer now a days.





Release Date:
Microsoft has not yet announced the exact release date for Windows 8. The CEO of Microsoft Steve Ballmer announced that it will be released the following year i.e. 2012. However, the company corrected Ballmer's words in a company statement saying "It appears there was a misstatement. We are eagerly awaiting the next generation of Windows 7 hardware that will be available in the coming fiscal year. To date, we have yet to formally announce any timing or naming for the next version of Windows."
Though the Beta Version of the Windows has now been released.

Compatibility:
In respect to compatibility, old 32-bit OS applications for Windows 7 (and earlier versions) will not work on computers based on ARM but they have to be converted.
Windows 8 Developer Preview is incompatible with some virtual platforms. A blog post by Microsoft states that the setup process is giving error when installing in a virtual machine, and installing it without hardware virtualization enabled can also be problematic.
